I am proud to announce one of my endorsements for Milpitas City Council. She is an extraordinary lady and someone I am very proud to call a friend! Teresa Cox was elected to the Ohlone Community College Board of Trustees in 2008 and re-elected in 2012. She became the first African American elected to this Board. Teresa earned a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from Northwestern University in Illinois and an MBA from the Simon Graduate School of Business Administration in Rochester, New York. She made national headlines as the first African American woman with a degree in Nuclear Engineering in the nation. She has received numerous awards of distinction. She is dedicated to improving international trade relations, furthering business opportunities, and creating jobs in our

community. She is a Commissioner for the Fremont Economic Development Advisory Commission. She served as a member of the Fremont Delegation to China and visited Ohlone's sister College in Suzhou, China. I am happy to endorse Demetress Morris as a Write-In Candidate for the Milpitas City Council on November 3, 2020. I am impressed by her record of service and commitment to our city, as Vice-Chair of our Planning Commission and founder of Flame Keepers (an organization which supports and celebrates the diversity of our community and country). And most recently, she organized a rescue drive with the Milpitas Executive Lion’s Club to bring clothing, personal items, and financial donations to the people of Santa Cruz displaced by fires earlier this year.
